Two things on the topic of music today. First, over the summer I saw one of my favorite bands, The Decemberists, perform at The Fillmore in Denver, CO. They performed their new album, Hazards of Love from beginning to end, and it was excellent. A friend of mine emailed me a video today of a part of the encore of the show - Lavendar Diamond's Becky Stark, and My Brightest Diamond's Shara Worden (who is always amazing to watch) performing a cover of Heart's Crazy On You. This performance ranked in the top two moments of the concert (1: Rake Song), and now I shall share with yoooou:
In other music news, MTV's VMAs were last night, and I know I'm literally the last person on the planet to comment on this, but Kanye's outburst during TSwift's acceptance was classic. Made me hate KWest even more. The only thing I did get out of the VMAs though, was an appreciation for the new Jay-Z album, The Blueprint 3. Empire State of Mind is an excellent song.
Oh yeah, and I like Russel Brand, I think he's funny. In his own way....
