  1. first.

nice composition, a bit of longing for some people but I think the emptiness speaks well to the photo. The sign is framed well, and the other signs are readable.

Looks-wise I love the light coming across the walk, but its source is a distraction.

    Vote.

  2. Lauren, I love you, but I've got to vote for this one today! This picture is just so powerful - the light, the composition, and the message.

  7. While Lauren's photo has much more color, and is very aesthetically pleasing, Justin's photo is more than just a close-up of a wall. This image provokes a bit more thought from the viewer with its content, and I find the trashed protest signs quite humorous.

    Sorry Lauren.

  11. the contrast with the blue lettering of the sign really allows the viewer to catch a glimpse of the blue, endless depths of justins mind as he probes deeper into the world of politically motivated destruction, while the green in the background calls to mind visions of a disrupted Eden, and this biblical reference is only further portrayed in the fractured light playing over the deserted street corner that is washington d.c.

  12. gotta go with JK on this one, the empty bench, the light, the message in the trash--but what's in the white bag under the bench???
